Izmir Asansor Karatas Area Info
Asansor meaning elevator in English is right between Mithatpasa Road, Konak Avenue and Guzelyali. Asansor was built by Nesim Levi, Jewish businessmen, with a commercial aim in 1907. The lift was built as an alternative transportation to replace 155 step stairs. Today it is being used as a touristic destination. Asansor was restorated in 1992 and a cafe and restaurant was built allowing visitors to see watch the sea while having dinner. Asansor is located in Karatas which has large number of residential property and majority of them have very nice sea view.
