Izmir Alsancak Area Info
Alsancak has been the most famous section of Izmir for many years now. It is a combination of brand new apartments and old Levantine two or three storey houses. The area has high quality shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. When Jewish and Christian people moved to Izmir, they chose to live in Alsancak. There are still several churches open for people to worship such as the Saint Jean Church, Santa Maria Church, Notre Dame de St. Holy Rosary Church and Aya Fotini. Alsancak is a great section of Izmir to invest both in residential and commercial properties. It is also home to the Izmir Harbour which started to have a significant role in Turkey’s economy with large number of ships entering the harbour.
