Istanbul - European Capital of Culture 2010 Celebrations
Istanbul is chosen as the European Capital of Culture 2010. In order to celebrate this title, president Mr Recep Tayip Erdogan arranged festivals in seven point of the city. The districts where the celebrations take place are Halic, Taksim, Kadikoy, Sultanahmet, Beylikduzu, Pendik and Bagcilar.
Istanbul shares the title with Essen in Germany and Pecs in Hungary.
