9, 093, 071... This figure means a new record for Antalya. The number of tourists which came to Antalya by air and sea in 2008, have reached to a record number. In 2008, 1,304,000 more tourists came compared to 2007. The number of tourists increased 17%. Antalya added a new record to the history of tourism. The overall number of tourists who came to Antalya by air and sea in 2008, was exactly 9,093,071.While in terms of tourist number, the record of all times was broken, the target of  nine million tourists has also been exceeded. While 8,964,000 of these tourists came to the city by air, 128,928 touristsentered the city from Alanya, Kas, Antalya, Finike and Kemer ports. The number of tourists, who came to the city, increased mostly in May, June and July. In May and June of 2008, while the number of tourists who came to the city increased at a rate of  22%, in July it increased at a rate of 20%. Antalya Airport also began rapidly for January. Only in January 1^st, the number of tourists was 3,040 people. Hence, 3,040 foreign citizens welcomed the new year in Antalya.
